Our stance on Black Friday? 🌵
We're all about making good sh*t that lasts a long time.
Not because we're on some eco-crusade or anything but simply because we don't particularly like shopping and would rather have our tools not get in the way of getting the job done.
This was the way the world used to be but in recent years the world has got used to this bizarre hamster wheel of AliExpress, TradeMe, drop shipping, fast-fashion madness.
Folks once upon a time used to get an endorphin hit by building something, nailing a new climbing pitch or getting a personal record for riding up some hill somewhere. Nowadays it comes from the excitement of clicking 'buy now' on some website somewhere. Only that hit costs money, lasts only a few seconds and screws over the environment to boot.
So, bugger that. We ain't doing no stupid Black Friday sale. Neither are we doing Cyber Monday, 11/11, couples day, Valentine's Day, international be kind to animals day or whatever these multi nationals come up with next to sell you cr*p you don't really want, won't really use and won't actually do the job anyway.
So, what are we doing instead?
Instead we will offer free repairs on all Cactus gear, for anyone, anywhere (Fri 24th - Mon 27th Nov). Whether you need a new zip, a patch or some buckles updated, consider it on the house. We're asking you have a beer, enjoy your weekend and have a think about the broader affects of consumption and the bizarre madness of Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
We're about tools to get the job done. Always have been, always will be.
So, go climb a mountain, ride a bike or spend some time in the bush this Black Friday and ignore the bullsh*t going on across the internet.
